What is Disorderly Conduct?

A person is guilty of disorderly conduct if the person:

(1) Uses abusive language and thereby intentionally creates a risk of assault;

(2) Intentionally disrupts any lawful assembly or meetings of persons without lawful authority;

(3) Intentionally obstructs vehicular or pedestrian traffic without lawful authority; or

(4) Intentionally engages in fighting or in tumultuous conduct or makes unreasonable noise, within 500 feet of a funeral, a funeral home, or a funeral procession.

What is the Punishment for Disorderly Conduct?

What may seem like a funny prank to some can actually have very serious repercussions. Having a disorderly conduct charge on your record can make it hard to get a job or even keep your current job.

Disorderly conduct is a misdemeanor.

A misdemeanor is punishable by imprisonment for up to ninety days, or a fine of up to $1,000.00, or both.

As the sentence can range so widely, it is important to have a knowledgeable attorney who can advocate for the lowest sentence possible for you.
